Youth Intro to Weight Lifting/Cardio - F4010

This exciting new class is geared towards your 7th and 8th graders to get a formal introduction to the weight and cardio rooms before they enter high school. Our certified personal trainer will walk you through how to use all equipment properly and safely . This class will go over each benefit to different workout regimens as well as the benefits and risks associated to all workout equipment that can be found in a weight room and cardio room . Each participant will not only learn all the necessary information but will also be using each workout room under the supervision of a personal trainer . This will give all you 7th and 8th graders a head start on your peers before you enter into high school!

Teen Paintball - R3001

Experience the fast action sport of paintball! Enjoy 2 hours of play at Odyssey Fun World using air-pressured guns that shoot paintballs. Dash, dive and duck to avoid the opposing team by hiding behind different structures. Fee includes equipment rental (mask and gun), play time, unlimited compressed air and 300 paintballs. Coveralls may be purchased onsite for $7. You may bring additional money for snacks. Waivers are required and must be completed at registration by a parent/guardian.

Pool Hop - R3008

Hang with your closest friends for the day at three waterparks. We’ll start the day visiting Sea Lion Aquatic Park where you can experience two body fume slides, two drop slides and a vortex pool. Next, we will trek to Bolingbrook and splash around at Pelican Harbor. Our last stop will be Cypress Cove in Woodridge where you can enjoy three body slides, one tube slide, a 600-foot lazy river and much more. Concessions are available for purchase at each site. Please bring a towel, sunblock, water and money if you would like to purchase items from concessions. All participants must know how to swim. Pools will swim test upon arrival.

Naperville Kayaking - R3009

Join us for a guided tour with Naperville Kayak. Their experienced kayak instructors provide the safety equipment, teach us how to paddle and take us out on the water for two hours to play and experience nature. No experience required. If you’re searching for a way to earn some much needed service hours, then your search is over. Come spend the morning with other teens for a work-day at the beautiful Lyman Woods Nature Center. Spanning 135 acres and two miles of trails, Lyman Woods connects people with nature and inspires appreciation and stewardship of natural areas through education and recreation. This is a cooperative program with Lisle, Downers Grove, Bolingbrook, Clarendon Hills, Westmont and Darien Park Districts.

Sea Lion Aquatic Park After Hours - R3012

Get your friends together and meet up at Lisle Park District’s Sea Lion Aquatic Park. We are shutting the doors to the public and keeping it open late just for you! Our DJ is playing all of your favorite songs while you swim or hang out poolside with all of your friends. There may even be a contest or two thrown in just for good measure. Register at your park district today, but if not you can pay at the door! You do not need a Jr. High After Hours card for this event. Residents of Bolingbrook, Downers Grove, Lisle, Westmont, Clarendon Hills, Oakbrook Terrace, Darien and Woodridge Park Districts will receive the resident rate for this event.

Babysitter Training - R3014

If you’re between the ages of 11 and 15, you can gain the knowledge, skills and confidence to care for infants and school-age children. This class combines video, activities, hands-on skills, training and discussion for a complete learning experience. Babysitter Training shows you how to: respond to emergencies and illnesses with first aid, rescue breathing and other appropriate care; make decisions under pressure, communicate with parents to learn household rules, recognize safety and hygiene issues, manage young children, and diaper and care for infants. Students receive a certificate upon successfully completing this course. Please bring a sack lunch.

Advanced Cooking Skills & World Cuisine Summer Camp - R3022

This one-week global class explores the culture and cuisine of five countries by integrating Whole Foods and learning about gardening. Participants learn to understand the importance of using their five senses in the kitchen focusing on consistency in recipes. They are challenged to use a wide variety of cooking equipment to ensure they know how to safely and effectively use each tool. Each day we cook a three-course meal and eat it afterwards! For safety purposed, closed toe shoes, hair pulled back and no jewelry is allowed. Allergy forms must be completed and signed prior to participation.

Horseback Riding & Trail Ride - R3027

Enjoy a guided trail ride for beginner through advanced riders. Never been on a horse? No problem. Horses are very well trained and are used to beginner riders. Everyone starts off in an arena and are given a short lesson on how to control the horse that you have been assigned to. Once everyone in the group feels comfortable, we head out on trail. All trail rides are guided by professional staff. Protective Headgear is required for all participants under 18. An additional waiver is needed for this trip and can be found on the website www.bolingbrookparks.org and must be brought with you on the day of the trip.
