Youth Intro to Weight Lifting/Cardio - F4010

This exciting new class is geared towards your 7th and 8th graders to get a formal introduction to the weight and cardio rooms before they enter high school. Our certified personal trainer will walk you through how to use all equipment properly and safely . This class will go over each benefit to different workout regimens as well as the benefits and risks associated to all workout equipment that can be found in a weight room and cardio room . Each participant will not only learn all the necessary information but will also be using each workout room under the supervision of a personal trainer . This will give all you 7th and 8th graders a head start on your peers before you enter into high school!

Teen Service Series - R3010

The West Suburban Humane Society is a volunteer-based, animal welfare organization that houses up to 25 dogs and 60 cats at a time. This trip will include a tour of the shelter, a volunteer project (TBD) and time to socialize with the animals. If you are planning to receive service hours with this trip, please bring any forms that need to be signed. Fee includes transportation and supervision.

Sea Lion Aquatic Park After Hours - R3012

Get your friends together and meet up at Lisle Park District’s Sea Lion Aquatic Park. We are shutting the doors to the public and keeping it open late just for you! Our DJ is playing all of your favorite songs while you swim or hang out poolside with all of your friends. There may even be a contest or two thrown in just for good measure. Register at your park district today, but if not you can pay at the door! You do not need a Jr. High After Hours card for this event. Residents of Bolingbrook, Downers Grove, Lisle, Westmont, Clarendon Hills, Oakbrook Terrace, Darien and Woodridge Park Districts will receive the resident rate for this event.

Babysitter Training - R3014

If you’re between the ages of 11 and 15, you can gain the knowledge, skills and confidence to care for infants and school-age children. This class combines video, activities, hands-on skills, training and discussion for a complete learning experience. Babysitter Training shows you how to: respond to emergencies and illnesses with first aid, rescue breathing and other appropriate care; make decisions under pressure, communicate with parents to learn household rules, recognize safety and hygiene issues, manage young children, and diaper and care for infants. Students receive a certificate upon successfully completing this course. Please bring a sack lunch.

Self Defense Seminar - R3031

This workshop is designed to be extremely effective in teaching girls how to protect themselves. The central focus is to create and extremely safe learning environment while ensuring high quality service. All instructors are members of the Bolingbrook Police Department. Training includes practicing in full force self-defense techniques on a padded instructor as well as everyday safety skills which focus on awareness and prevention skills. The workshop emphasizes techniques that can stop an attack without violence. All workshops involve physical practice, role plays and stories to teach skills. Students should wear athletic clothing and gym shoes.

It’s a race against time as players solve a series of puzzles using clues, hints and strategy to complete the objectives at hand to unveil the secret plot which is hidden within the room. The escape room is in Downers Grove but will meet at the Oakbrook Terrace Park District where transportation will be provided.
