This class will help attendees evaluate their readiness for retirement with several self evaluation exercises. Once the evaluations are complete attendees will be introduced to the Ten Critical Questions. These are the questions that every retiree must answer before embarking on a successful retirement. Students will be given in depth instruction on the nuances of Social Security.
• How benefits are calculated
• When to file to maximize benefits
• Taxation of benefits
• Benefits while working
• Benefits for spouses, divorced and widows
Students will then discuss the basic need for an estate and or financial plan. The instructor will help students conduct an estate analysis complete with a net worth statement.

“Financial Management in Retirement” picks up right where “Can you Afford to Retire?” leaves off. This course will teach attendees the nuances of retirement accumulation and distribution planning. We will look closely at all types of qualified retirement plans, IRA’s and learn about the distribution rules. We will touch briefly on managing taxation in retirement and then begin a discussion of risk management. Attendees will evaluation risks to their life, health and property. We will then end our discussion with an explanation of the most common investments used by retirees. This program is held at Westmont Park District, 75 E. Richmond St.

Adult Archery - R4047

Learn the basics of archery including how to handle a bow, a 9-step program for shooting an arrow from a bow, and range safety in this adult-only class. We teach proper technique and vary target distances so that adults can participate at their own ability levels. Exciting games are played offering lots of fun for everyone. Discover this relaxing and rewarding sport that gives you a lifetime of enjoyment! Recurve bows, arrows and targets are provided, however, you may use your own equipment with instructor approval. Cyber Security - R4050

The College of DuPage and Chicago Computers of Naperville have teamed up to help educate the community about cybercrimes and cyber security. We are all aware that the incidence of these crimes has grown exponentially. The goal is to provide insight and advice for helping to stay protected online from cyber threats. Topics include: understand and using the most common browsers, keeping Windows or Apple OS up to date, Antivirus and Antimalware software, internet search results and what to look out for, email and spam, removing spyware/viruses from your computer.
